Go to USPS.com. Click "Shop," then "Get Mailing & Shipping Supplies," then "Priority Mail." Choose the size and quantity of boxes you need (there are several different sizes to choose from). Order them, and have them delivered right to your door, free of charge--you can order hundreds at a time. You do have to create an account, but that's fairly irrelevant--there is still no charge.

That is a load of salesmanship crap they are giving you about the insurance -- they will sell the insurance even if you pack it yourself, so long as it is obvious that you have packed it well.
I would buy a 4x8 sheet of cardboard -- or better, go to an appliance store and ask them to save you their refrigerator boxes, they will probably give them to you free.
